Key West Turns Up the Music: Mile 0 Fest Celebrates Ten Years in Paradise

KEY WEST, FLORIDA | JANUARY 26–30, 2027

There are plenty of reasons to visit Key West in January. The tropical weather, historic streets, waterfront restaurants and legendary nightlife have long attracted visitors looking to escape the winter. This year, music lovers have another reason to head south: Mile 0 Fest returns for its tenth anniversary with five days of Americana, Red Dirt and Texas Country music spread across one of America's most colorful island communities.

Where Island Life Meets Live Music

Key West has always had a personality unlike anywhere else in Florida. At the southern end of the Overseas Highway, the island mixes old Florida architecture, Caribbean influences, historic watering holes and a thriving entertainment scene.

Duval Street remains the center of the action, but some of the island's best experiences are found just beyond the crowds. The Historic Seaport offers open-air dining and sunset excursions, while Old Town's quieter streets reveal charming cottages, art galleries and neighborhood restaurants.

That setting makes Mile 0 Fest particularly appealing. Instead of spending the entire day behind the gates of a conventional festival ground, visitors can explore the island while enjoying performances in different surroundings.

A morning walk along the harbor can lead to an afternoon acoustic set, dinner overlooking the water and an evening concert beneath the stars.

A Festival With Its Own Personality

Founded in 2018, Mile 0 Fest has grown into a destination event that draws music fans from across the country. Its appeal goes beyond the headline acts. The event is known for intimate performances, impromptu musical collaborations and the chance to see established entertainers in settings considerably smaller than their usual concert venues.

The main evening performances take place at the Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater, with additional shows scattered through more than ten locations across Key West.

Discovering Key West Between Shows

Visitors can easily turn the festival into a longer Florida Keys vacation. The drive from Miami along U.S. 1 passes through Key Largo, Islamorada and Marathon before reaching Key West, with bridges and water views that are attractions in their own right.

Once in town, the Ernest Hemingway Home, Mallory Square, Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park and the Southernmost Point are among the familiar landmarks worth visiting.

For dining, fresh local seafood, Cuban coffee and Key lime pie are part of the experience. The island's open-air restaurants and historic bars also provide plenty of places to gather between concerts.

January in the Florida Keys

Late January is one of the most pleasant times of year to explore Key West. Temperatures are generally mild, the humidity is lower than during summer and outdoor dining remains a favorite pastime.

Evenings near the waterfront can turn breezy, particularly during winter cold fronts, so festivalgoers should pack a light jacket along with their tropical wardrobe.

Five Nights, Five Major Headliners

The 2027 lineup brings together an impressive collection of established performers and rising stars. Cross Canadian Ragweed, Ryan Bingham, Wyatt Flores, Old Crow Medicine Show and Kaitlin Butts lead a program featuring dozens of artists.

The anniversary schedule offers a different headliner each evening, making it easy for visitors to plan a single night, a long weekend or the entire five-day experience.

Tuesday, January 26

Kaitlin Butts Opens the Celebration

The festivities begin at the Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater with an early-start happy hour and an opening-night concert featuring The Creekers, Silverada and headliner Kaitlin Butts.

Known for her expressive vocals and storytelling, Butts brings a blend of country traditions and contemporary songwriting to the festival's opening evening.

Wednesday, January 27

Ryan Bingham Takes Center Stage

Ryan Bingham headlines Wednesday's waterfront concert, joined by American Aquarium, Jason Scott & The High Heat and The Kruse Brothers.

The wider island lineup includes William Clark Green, Tanner Usrey, Roger Creager, Stoney LaRue, Pony Bradshaw, Jamie Lin Wilson and Courtney Patton.

Bingham's distinctive voice and roots-driven songwriting make this one of the week's major attractions.

Thursday, January 28

Wyatt Flores Brings a New Generation of Country

Wyatt Flores leads Thursday night's amphitheater program, supported by William Clark Green, The Jack Wharff Band and The Droptines.

Additional island performances include Wade Bowen, Tanner Usrey, Micky & The Motorcars, American Aquarium, The Creekers and Bri Bagwell.

Flores represents a younger wave of country artists whose emotionally direct songwriting has attracted a growing audience beyond the traditional Red Dirt circuit.

Friday, January 29

Cross Canadian Ragweed Returns to the Spotlight

Friday promises to be one of the festival's biggest nights as Cross Canadian Ragweed headlines the amphitheater. Wade Bowen, Shelby Stone and The Smokin' Oaks complete the evening's main-stage lineup.

Elsewhere, festivalgoers can catch Wyatt Flores, 49 Winchester, Stoney LaRue, Corb Lund, Kevin Fowler, Taylor Hunnicutt and Micky & The Motorcars.

For longtime followers of Texas and Oklahoma Red Dirt music, the Cross Canadian Ragweed performance is likely to be a particular highlight.

Saturday, January 30

Old Crow Medicine Show Closes the Festival

The anniversary celebration concludes with Old Crow Medicine Show headlining the amphitheater after performances by 49 Winchester, Corb Lund and Taylor Hunnicutt.

The final day's schedule also features Cody Canada & The Departed, Shelby Stone, Bri Bagwell, Johnny Mullenax and Walt & Tina Wilkins at other island locations.

Old Crow Medicine Show's lively blend of old-time string-band music, folk and Americana should provide a fitting finale to five days of concerts.

Concerts at Sea, Historic Bars and Beachfront Stages

Some of the most memorable Mile 0 Fest performances take place far from the main amphitheater.

The festival's Sessions at Sea combine live music with sailing excursions around Key West. Rather than watching performers from a crowded concert floor, guests can enjoy acoustic sets while cruising through the surrounding waters.

Participating artists include Cody Canada, Bri Bagwell, Walt & Tina Wilkins, Taylor Hunnicutt, Shelby Stone, Adam Hood, J.D. Graham, Jason Eady and Stoney LaRue.

These excursions are among the festival's signature attractions, although access depends on the ticket or package purchased.

Songwriter Spotlight at the Key West Theater

The historic Key West Theater provides another intimate setting, hosting exclusive Songwriter Spotlight appearances by Kaitlin Butts, Ryan Bingham, Old Crow Medicine Show and Fabrizio.

For fans interested in the stories behind the music, the theater performances offer a different experience from the evening concerts.

Admission to these special sessions is reserved for eligible festival package holders.

More Stages Around the Island

The tenth anniversary adds the Reach Beach Stage at The Reach Resort, giving visitors another waterfront location to experience the music.

Returning venues include Southernmost Beach Resort, Ocean Key Resort, Smokin' Tuna Saloon and Hank's Saloon.

Each offers its own atmosphere, from relaxed daytime performances beside the water to lively sets in some of Key West's best-known entertainment establishments.

A Welcome Boost for Local Tourism

A festival spread across the island naturally brings business to hotels, restaurants, bars, transportation providers and local shops.

Unlike events confined to one large venue, Mile 0 Fest encourages visitors to spend time in different neighborhoods and explore the businesses that make Key West distinctive.

The January dates also create an opportunity for South Florida residents to enjoy a long weekend in the Keys without leaving the state.

Planning Your Festival Getaway

Visitors traveling from Miami or Fort Lauderdale should plan their accommodations early. January is a popular season in the Keys, and festival visitors add to the demand for rooms within walking distance of the performance venues.

Staying in Old Town can make it easier to move between stages without driving. Bicycles, walking and local transportation are practical options in central Key West, where parking can be limited.

Travelers coming by car should allow plenty of time for the Overseas Highway, particularly on busy weekends.

Tickets and Festival Packages

Single-Day General Admission passes and 3-Day General Admission passes are available, with a limited number of five-day Gold Premier VIP packages remaining as announced by organizers.

Festival organizers have also announced a November 15, 2026 deadline for purchasing passes through a payment plan.

Special experiences, including certain songwriter performances and sailing excursions, may require qualifying festival packages. Visitors should review the admission details before booking.
